I'm going to lose some weight

Thanks to everyone who responded to my last post - both here and by other means. I really do appreciate all the words of encouragement. I am grateful that I'm surrounded by all of you.

So, I went to schedule myself for surgery this afternoon. I think I will be going under the knife next Friday. I've got these two growths on my back (one right under my left shoulder and one on my left shoulder blade) that I'm going to have removed. I know what you're thinking - gross. They're a couple of lipomas or fat tumors. Anyway, the surgeon said I'm going to have to go to the OR because the one on my shoulder blade is too big to be removed in the office - it's about 7 cm in diameter. Let the Quasimodo jokes begin. I've already named these tumors Cheech and Chong. I usually say that or that the bigger one is my unborn twin. They've been with me for a couple of years now, but I think it's time for them to go. I asked the surgeon if I could see them when he takes them out. I also requested a cool scar. I think he thinks I was joking, but I was serious about both of those requests.

My older sister is afraid I won't be able to lead singing the Sunday following the surgical procedure - it's baby dedication Sunday, and my nephew is being dedicated. I think I should be fine. We'll see. I may have to lead singing from a gurney hooked up to an IV, but I'll be there.

The Harry Potter scar would be cool...what do y'all think?

Thanks for reading.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Who else could lead singing on the day of Gabe's baby dedication?!

The thing about the scar being a real request reminded me of the postcards on Post Secret (link on my site). How could he think you were joking? I think if it's going to leave a scar, we should definated be allowed to choose a cool one! Seriously, lightening bolts on my palms would look way cooler than the lines I have from the carpal tunnel surgery!

Hope all goes well.
