Corpus Christi

I have been in Corpus Christi since Wednesday night. I'm glad that it is now Saturday. I went down there to attend and present at a conference. It went well, and I'm satisfied with how the presentation went. If I can just get through Tuesday of this week, things will be a lot slower for me.

Here's what happened in Corpus. I stayed at the Holiday Inn right on the beach. Each morning that I was there I could look out of the window of my room and I was looking right at the water. That was pretty cool. I really liked that when I got to my room each evening, the bed was made and things had been "cleaned." I really wish that's how things were at my apartment. My mom asked me if I was going to get a maid. I wish! That would be great. Anyway, I got to hang out with a few friends, but everyone left Friday afternoon. Since I had already paid, I decided to stay until this morning, sleep in late, and not rush to get back. Not once did I walk on the beach even though my hotel was on the beach itself. Is that bad? I just don't like sand all that much. Maybe things would have been different if I had been there with someone that I know, but oh well.

I drove seven hours there and seven hours back. My older sister recommended I get an audio book to help the time go by faster. I listened to a novel called Heat. It was pretty good. That's the first time I've ever done that.

Not much else is going on right now. I wish I had some exciting news, but I don't. Alright, I hope all is well in your worlds. Thanks for reading.

Audio books saved me when I was driving 6 hours to DFW and 6 hours back every weekend going to job fairs before I graduated from HU. They really do help the trip go faster and smoother. I did notice that the guy who reads the HP books had a very soporific effect on me though...

Glad you had a nice time in Corpus Cristi. :-)
