Getting Ready

So many things to do before Friday. There's school and work and packing and mentally preparing, etc. I can't believe that I'm supposed to ride 100 miles this Saturday (actually, the course is 109 miles - I thought I just signed up for 100). This past Saturday, I rode 80 miles in what seemed like 90 mph winds. I was exhausted at the end of the day...and believe me, it took me the whole day. My plan for Saturday is to take frequent rest stops. They say there will be rest stops about every 15 miles. I plan to stop and get fruit and snacks at almost every one of them. That way, I won't get completely exhausted and I will have plenty of energy from the food. We will see what happens. The ride starts at 7 a.m. and the course closes at 6 p.m. That means I have eleven hours to finish the ride. And that's all that I want for myself - to finish. I am not placing any expectations on myself to do it in a certain amount of time. When I finish, I will be pretty proud of myself. There's a victory party afterward - I'm going to eat like it's my last meal - I get really hungry after riding. I'm in the process of contacting a church to go to on Sunday in Tucson. I always like to visit other churches to check out their worship services. I'm nervous, excited, and very much wanting Saturday to be over - I'll let y'all know how it went when I get back. Pray for me.

Thanks for reading.
