Spring Break
I'm so lucky to still get to have spring break. It's cool that I work at a school about five minutes from the university that I attend. Because of that, both of the institutions have spring break at the same time. I knew I would be bored if I stayed here in Texas the whole time, so I decided to bother some of my friends in Tennessee. They were gracious enough to accomodate this bachelor from Texas. I really did enjoy my time up there with them.
While in Tennessee, I got to visit The Hermitage, the home of our seventh president, Andrew Jackson. If you ever get a chance to visit this historic landmark, go and do it. I love getting to walk in a home that was inhabited by a great historical figure. I also enjoy getting to learn more about people and how things were done a couple of hundred years ago. I seriously read every single sign and looked at every single picture at The Hermitage.
I also got to visit Belle Meade plantation. It was spectacular as well - another beautiful home with a rich history. When I walked into the "greeting room," I could smell the antiquity of the wood. It was really something to behold.
Anyway, I'm so glad that I went on the trip. I got to be around wonderful people and learned a little bit of history as well.
Thanks for reading.

And mdlg, what did you think when you walked into the entry hall of our grand residence?
